PINLINE ELECTRONIC ARTWORK GUIDELINES
Thanks for inquiring about sending art to PinLine. We will gladly walk you through any production process and the artwork requirements. If you do not have perfect artwork - don't worry. We will work with you to create a design that will meet your needs. If we can make simple changes to your artwork - we will do so at no charge. If we need to re-create your artwork - we can do so for a nominal charge. The best thing to do is to send us what you have so that we may advise you.
ARTWORK FOR EACH PROCESS
For items where we are creating your design in metal (including lapel pins, coins, key tags, etc.) we will use your artwork to cut the dies or molds for your pieces. The artwork will tell us which areas are to be raised metal and which should be recessed. Black sections of your art will be raised metal, white areas will be recessed. Recessed areas may be filled with colors. (See example below)
Example 1 - Black = raised Metal (gold finish) White areas color filled
For items where we are printing your design onto one of our products (e.g. silk screening, foil stamping, etc). Please send clean black and white artwork and indicate pms colors that you would like. Color separations are great - but not absolutely necessary.
For photo dome pins, please submit your original artwork in high resolution (at least 300dpi) full color. Also, if you have PMS requirements, please let us know so that we may attempt to generate output as close to your requirements as possible. Jpeg or gif images are not acceptable for photo process items.
For Offset print items, please submit full color artwork in CMYK at a minimum of 300 dpi.
We use the following as our primary graphics programs:
* Adobe Illustrator Version CS 3
* Adobe Photoshop Version CS3
When sending artwork - please DO NOT compress your file. If you must compress it - please do so as a zip file. Macintosh compression (hqx) can not be read.
